The CLEARTEST® Ferritin Rapid Test is an immunological test for the qualitative detection of ferritin in citrated blood, serum and capillary blood from the fingertip. The test serves as an aid in the diagnosis of iron deficiency.
The CLEARTEST® Ferritin Rapid Test is an immunological test for the qualitative detection of ferritin in citrated blood, serum and capillary blood from the fingertip. The test serves as an aid in the diagnosis of iron deficiency. The test is intended for use by medically trained personnel only.
Iron deficiency is the most common deficiency disease worldwide and is present when the value falls below the normal value depending on gender and age. Iron is an essential component of erythrocytes and is needed for the formation of haemoglobin and myoglobin, which, among other things, regulate oxygen transport. Iron deficiency can be triggered by various causes, including chronic blood loss, bleeding in the gastrointestinal tract, menstruation, growth, pregnancy or malnutrition. Typical symptoms include: Paleness, brittle nails, fatigue, headaches, dizziness.
The test contains two monoclonal antibodies specific for human ferritin, one of which is gold-labelled and one of which is fixed on the detection zone of the membrane.
The CLEARTEST® Ferritin detects samples from a concentration > 20 ng/ml up to a ferritin concentration of 1500 ng/ml.
