The Chlamydia Cassette Rapid Test is a professional-grade test for the qualitative detection of Chlamydia antigen using specimens from cervical swabs in women, urethral swabs and urine specimens in men.
Chlamydia trachomatis are bacteria that like to lodge in cells of mucous membranes in the eye, respiratory or genital area. With a size of only 0.5 µm, they are among the smallest bacteria of all. An infection in the urological or genital area may be manifested by pain during urination or genital discharge. The disease can become chronic if not treated with antibiotics. Untreated infections can lead to infertility in women and infertility in men, among many other symptoms. In the case of possible symptoms such as increased vaginal discharge (possibly purulent) in women, intermittent bleeding or bleeding after sexual intercourse, purulent cervical mucus or, in men, pain during urination, mucous (purulent) urethral discharge, urethral discomfort up to and including urethritis, the diagnosis can be made without great effort with the help of the CLEARTEST Chlamydia exclusively in a specialist's practice.
