The CLEARTEST Campylobacter is a qualitative rapid test for determination of Campylobacter-Antigen in human stool samples.

Infections by bacteria of the genus Campylobacter are spread worldwide. In Germany and other European countries, the diseases occur more frequently during the warm season. Children under 5 years of age and young adults between 20 and 29 years of age are particularly frequently affected by the disease in Germany.

Campylobacter enteritis is the most common bacterial notifiable disease in Germany with 60,000 - 70,000 cases transmitted per year (80 - 90 diseases per 100,000 inhabitants).

Campylobacter infections of humans are mainly food-borne, especially due to chicken meat as the most important source of infection.
